Chronicle on Superbowl Sunday
So this Superbowl Sunday I spent it eating frozen yogurt and catching a movie. Today my boyfriend and I decided to watch the movie Chronicle.
I was a bit surprised by the movie. I didn’t think I would have liked it as much as I do. The acting wasn’t horrible, the special effects were ok (the flying scenes were a little cheesy at times) and the story was overall entertaining. Three high school boys, who weren’t exactly friends become friends after developing powers which they received when looking around at some weird cave. The back story of Andrew, who later becomes consumed by his anger, was probably the most interesting character. Drunken dad, sick mom and true outcast at school. You get an great picture of why later in the film he goes off the wall. It shows when pushed far enough, you will retaliate with violence. Overall I enjoyed all three of the guys and the actors who portrayed them. It could have gone deeper, but then again, it’s meant to entertain, not make you think. Shout out to Michael B. Jordan who played Steve. He played Wallace on The Wire and was also on the show Friday Night Lights. I have a feeling we will be seeing lots of him which I love. I give the movie a B+.
