For anyone who has met my boyfriend and I, we are different and it can be easily seen by just the way we dress. I love leather jackets, black and experimenting with my clothes. My boyfriend on the other hand likes simple, clean clothes. On a regular day he is in jeans and a Northface fleece jacket/sweater. That is what he likes to wear.
My friends like to say things like, why don’t you change is wardrobe or buy him some cooler clothes. But why would I do that? Why make him wear something he would be uncomfortable wearing? The other day I went shopping and picked him up a Puma hat that was on sale. When I saw it, I knew he would love it. My friend said, “why buy him things like that. Get him to dress differently.” Which made me realize that she probably does this to her boyfriend which is sad. It makes a person look vain.
I’m not with my boyfriend because of the way he dresses. I am with him because he is an amazing person who treats me with kindness and love. Isn’t that why we choose to date the people we date? Well, at least that is why I choose to date the people I date.
I feel like many people think the same way as my friend. Which is just sad and stupid.
Fuck it if my boyfriend dresses like Ben Affleck. My man looks good!
